is made as per the rank obtained by eligible
candidates in the state-level Common Entrance Exam
conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams (WWW.CEE-KERALA.ORG),
Kerala State.
The
distribution is 50% Merit Seats, 35% Management seats
and 15% NRI Seats

the rank list published by the Commissioner for
Entrance Exams (CEE),
Kerala, according to the new professional bill act. The remaining,
15%(NRI Quota) seats,
are filled by the College with preference given to
candidates who have qualified in the Engineering
Entrance Exam as per their rank or based on the rank
list prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained
in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the
qualifying examination. The engineering diploma
holders are admitted directly to the 3rd semester
in the concerned discipline. Preference will be given
for those who qualify entrance exam conducted by L
B S Center for Science and Technology, Kerala.

1.
Conditions for Admission.
Candidates for admission to
the B.Tech degree courses in engineering shall
be required to possess the following
qualifications.
1.1
-
The Candidate shall have
passed the Higher Secondary Examination
(Class XII) of Board of Higher Secondary
Examination. Govt. of Kerala with
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as
subjects or any other examinations accepted
as equivalent thereto by the Cochin
University of Science and Technology.
1.2
-
The Candidate shall have
secured a minimum of 50% marks for
Mathematics as well as for Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry put together.
1.3
-
In the case of candidates
belonging to socially and educationally
backward classes (referred to in G.O
(P)208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, as amended
from time to time) the minimum marks
requirements are 45% for mathematics and 45%
for mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put
together.
1.4
-
In the case of SC/ST
students only a pass in the Higher Secondary
examination (Class XII) with the above
subjects.

-
The candidates shall also
satisfy the conditions regarding physical
fitness as may be prescribed by the
University.
1.6
-
Admission to the course
shall be through Common Admission test
Conducted by the university for courses run
by schools/colleges under Centre for
Engineering Studies (For course run by
recognized institutions, the admission will
be based on entrance test in engineering
conducted by Government of Kerala).
1.7
-
No Admission shall be made
after 40 working days from the date of
commencement of the combined first and
second semester as per the academic calendar
approved by the university. The percentage
of attendance for 1st year shall be reckoned
from the date on which he/she joins the
course.

2.
Duration of the Course.
2.1
-
The curriculum requirement
of B.Tech degree shall consist of a period
of 4 academic years as prescribed in the
curriculum.
2.2
-
The first two semesters
will be combined together as first year, and
the remaining three years shall be split
into 6 semesters. Examinations will be
conducted at the end of the year / semester
in subjects prescribed in the respective
schemer of examinations.
2.3
-
The teaching programme for
each semester shall consist of 15 weeks and
the first year shall consist of 30 weeks.

-
The course work shall
follow the following calendar as far as
possible.

3.
Promotion to Higher Semesters
3.1
-
The Candidate shall be
eligible for promotion from one semester to
the next semester only if.
a) he/she has secured a minimum of 75%
attendance
b) his/her progress and conduct have been
satisfactory.

4.
Eligibility for the Degree
4.1
-
No candidate shall be
eligible for the B. Tech degree unless he
has undergone the prescribed course of study
for a period of 4 academic years in the
university and has passed the prescribed
examinations in all the semesters.
4.2
-
The candidate shall complete
all requirements for degree within a period of
6 academic years from the date of admission to
the first year.
