College of Engineering, Kidangoor(CEK), Kottayam
is one among the premier institutions in the
state. The college is governed by the Co-operative
Academy of Professional Education established by
the Government of Kerala. The admissions are based
on the rank obtained by the students in the State
Entrance examinations and functioning of the
college is according to the rules and regulations
formulated by the Government of Kerala. Now the
institution is glistening with outstanding records
in both academic and extracurricular fields backed
by excellent faculty and full-fledged
facilities.
Government vide letter No. GOMS/136/2000/
Higher Education dated. 18.02.2000 accorded
sanction for the establishment of the College of
Engineering, Kidangoor under CAPE along with a few
other Engineering Colleges. Cochin University of
Science & Technology (CUSAT) issued No
Objection Certificate vide their letter No.
Ac.C3/441/1999 dated. 11.04.2000 for starting of
the colleges under the aegis of CAPE .
AICTE issued the viability certificate for
starting of the College as per F. No. 770-54-
36/ET – NDEG/2000/V dated. 28.07.2000 based on
the application from CAPE. This was
subjected to fulfilling requirements on buildings,
furniture, equipments staff etc. 'COLLEGE OF
ENGINEERING KIDANGOOR' commenced its
activities on 18th August 2000.
The CAPE(Co-operative Academy of
Professional Education), Promoted by the
Department of Co-operation, Govt of Kerala was
established in April 1999, as an autonomous society registered
under the Travancore-Cochin Literary,
Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1955, with
the objective of setting up new professional
institutions in the state in the fields of technical
,medical and management education. Hon’ble Chief
Minister of Kerala is the Chairman of the CAPE and
the Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation is the Vice
Chairman. The academy is governed by a board of
governors and an executive committee with the
Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation, Government of
Kerala as chairman and the Director as the Member-Secretary

College of Engineering Kidangoor is affiliated to
the Cochin University of Science And
Technology(CUSAT), a pioneer among technological
universities in India. CUSAT is very keen in
updating the BTech syllabus as recommended by an
expert team to cater the needs of industry and R
& D. These equip the students to face challenges
in a rapidly advancing technological world. CUSAT
has vast resources, faculty and faculties through
which it ensures that each college is adhering to
the stipulated standards.
The college is situated at
Kidangoor in Kottayam district of Kerala. Kottayam
is known as Land of Letters, Lakes and Latex and
is the first city in India which acquired 100%
literacy. It is known as Akshara Nagaram of

near Kidangoor Subramanya Swami temple, 80 km from
Nedumbasserri international Airport and 20km from
Kottayam. The campus sprawls over 25 acres of
